Sample Financial Projections
These sample projections are designed as a guide to help non-financial entrepreneurs with their financial projections. All you need to know is how to add, subtract, multiply and divide in a spreadsheet. If you don’t already know how to do this, check out the various YouTube tutorials on Excel, OpenOffice etc.
The sample projections contain assumptions, profit/income projections, cash flow projections and balance sheet projections for 3 years. The business used in the example sells software downloads from their website. The purpose of this example is to show you the basic outline of a set of financial projections for a start-up so that you can then build your own that relate specifically to your business. It’s really important that you have a solid understanding of your financials. I strongly recommend that you do them yourself and not outsource them to your accountant. Not only will you save money but you will gain an invaluable insight into your business model and will see first hand how each part of your financials relate to each other. You will also be in a better position to answer questions from potential investors if you have built the financial projections yourself.
Download the sample Financial Projections in Excel format. If you don’t have excel use OpenOffice (it’s free) to open the spreadsheet.
