Google Wave – The Next Big Start-up Tool?

Google Wave Logo

I got an invitation to try Google Wave today. My initial reaction is Wow! this is going to change everything. Of course, I come from a start-up business perspective. I can see three main areas that Googe Wave can revolutionize.

1) Founding team collaboration

The founding team can now collaborate online in real time. This is the next level up from Google Docs which I have been a staunch advocate of in the past. For certain businesses this makes the need for office space one of choice rather than necessity. As a result, the costs of starting up can be dramatically reduced.

2) Market research and client interaction

This is is really a game changer. Using Google Wave in early stage market research with some key beta/prototype users can be really effective.

3) Outsourcing

If your start-up has to outsource certain activities this tool can really improve the interaction with the external people. You can get better defined work and communicate during the actual work process. This will lead to better quality and cheaper outsourcing.

All start-up entrepreneurs should consider using it especially during the start-up phase because it saves time energy and most importantly cash.
